Removing Mascara

As I mentioned earlier, I have an allergy to makeup, so I have to be careful about what I use. When I remove my eye make-up, I use Almay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover Pads to remove it and then Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo to cleanse my eyelids and lashes. I will be using this method to test the removability of each mascara.

Sephora's Mascara Sampler

When it comes to makeup, I always ask my two beautiful nieces for advice. Knowing that I have a mascara obsession, they gave me Sephora's Mascara Sampler for Christmas. I love, love, love it! I plan to try each one for a couple of days and then give a review. After that, I'll review others I have tried in my search for the perfect mascara. Please join in and share your own experiences.

Never Ending Mascara Trials

I remember, as a teenager, the thrill of FINALLY being allowed to wear makeup. Fighting the embarassment of acne, I learned to play up my eyes, so they became the focus of my face. Eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara became my best friends. With the magic of Great Lash Maybelline, I could make my eyelashes so long that on windy days my hair would get tangled in my lashes.

Imagine my shock when in my mid-thirties, not only did I start getting gray hairs, but I also became allergic to make-up. My look suddenly became "au naturale". By then, however, I was a mother and didn't have time to worry about such frivolous things.

By the time I turned 50, my acne was history and I had been coloring my hair for years. It was the encroaching wrinkles that made me think it was time to try my old friend, mascara, again and shift the focus back to my eyes. I was surprised to discover that my once thick, long, dark lashes were sparse and mousy. I turned to my favorite, Great Lash, but sadly found the magic was gone!

Since then, I have been on a search for the perfect mascara. I've found that this is an expensive quest. If you, too, are on the search for the perfect mascara, I hope my blog will save
you the time, money, and frustration I have spent over the past five years. If you have already found the perfect mascara, please share your secret, so we may all have longer, lush, lovely lashes!
